Application Process

When a student is enrolling in Thomas Edison Charter School for the first time or re-enrolling, parents or guardians need the following items to complete the registration:

  1. Completed Application
  2. One recent (within 3 months) form of proof of residency and current address, such as a rental/lease agreement, mortgage statement, or utility bill (Delmarva, Water, Lease Agreement or Mortgage Statement will only be accepted).
    1. If you are living with a friend or relative, you must complete the Residence Verification form, have it signed by the owner/renter stating that their address is you and your child’s place of residence and have it notarized by a notary public.
  3. Personal identification (driver’s license or official picture identification) of the parent/guardian, bearing his or her name.
  4. One proof of child’s identity (copies not accepted): original birth certificate.
  5. Student immunization record. Parent(s) must have records indicating that the child has had or has started specific immunizations. Students can enroll but cannot attend school if the immunization requirements are not met.
  6. Most Recent Progress Report/Report Card at time of registration, if applicable. (If your child is accepted, we will require the final report card for the current school year to verify promotion and grade placement)
  7. I.E.P. (Individualized Educational Program). We must have a copy of the most recent I.E.P. or 504 Plan for all Special Education students.
  8. Legal Documentation. If you are not the parent of the child you are registering, you will need to provide legal documentation from Family Court or the Division of Social Services indicating that you are the legal guardian.
  9. Child Find Screening (Kindergarten students Only)
