TECS SLAM Mission Statement

The TECS SLAM mission is to provide transformative after-school and summer programs that improve both academic and non-cognitive outcomes for nearly 200 disadvantaged K-8 students.


Our Vision

We strive to enhance literacy, attendance, self-efficacy, connectedness, agency, and ownership through high-quality academic and enrichment opportunities. By actively engaging parents and stakeholders, we empower students to achieve academic success and build strong foundations for their futures


Our Programs

  • Social-Emotional Learning: Mindfulness, health and fitness, nutrition, and violence prevention.
  • Literacy Support: Curriculum-aligned instruction led by certified teachers, paired with supplemental tutoring.
  • Arts: Music, dance, choir, drumming, theater, and comic book clubs to spark creativity and expression.
  • Mentorship: Building strong relationships between students and trusted adult ambassadors who inspire and guide.

Program Start Date: September 16, 2024  | Program End Date:  May 29, 2025

Time: 3:45PM- 5:30 PM (Monday - Thursday) 

After-School Programming will NOT be delivered on Fridays, half-days, or when school is not in session.

SLAM Program: Enrollment Application

The SLAM Program offers scholarships to each student enrolled. However, scholarships can be revoked at any time due to frequent absences or disciplinary issues.   

PLEASE SUBMIT ONE FORM PER CHILD. If you have multiple children at TECS, please complete a new form for each student.
