SchoolChoiceDE.org provides you with a central location to submit a Choice application for Thomas Edison Charter School.
SchoolChoiceDE.org allows you to apply to Thomas Edison Charter School, edit your existing application(s) as needed and monitor the status of your application(s) throughout the Choice process.
The School Choice enrollment period for the 2024-2025 school year will open on Monday, November 6, 2023 and close on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
Please register your child in their school of residence prior to applying for School Choice.
Beginning October 15, 2023, you can register your student in their school of residence online at https://education.delaware.gov/families/k12/enroll-in-public-school/.
Step 1 – Register your child in the school of residence –A school of residence is the school a student would attend based on their home address. See the school locator map for a list of schools by address.
Step 2 – Complete the standard application form –Any family seeking to choice a student into Thomas Edison Charter School must complete an online application form during the school choice application window (November 6, 2023 to January 10, 2024).
Step 3 – Choice selection –After the choice window closes, schools process applications based on state and local policy. Some schools may use lotteries. Districts and charter schools are required to follow the state’s policy for accepting school choice students. Families will be notified of their application status (approvals/disapprovals) no later than the last day of February.
Step 4 – Once accepted to TECS –Come into TECS to sign the acceptance letter and complete the final steps in the application process!
