Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to a new school year at Thomas A. Edison Charter School! We are so excited to have your child with us and look forward to an exciting and successful year. As you may be aware, almost all of our 8th graders were accepted into some of Delaware’s top private and public high schools. Our students also visit colleges such as University of Delaware, Morgan State University, Delaware State University, Lincoln University, and the University of Pennsylvania.
Our website includes valuable information to prepare both you and your child for the coming school year. You will find our School Calendar with the dates we will be closed for holidays, professional development and early dismissals. You will also find the School Dress Code Policy. Please read this carefully and keep it in mind when you are shopping for school uniforms. We believe our dress code is very flexible and important to the success of our students. We have included a list of stores that may carry the items your child will need. Finally, please review the Supply List for your child’s grade. Once the school year begins, teachers may request a few more specific items, but this list will get your child off to a great start! We will also post the school bus schedules and information about school sports, activities and enrichment programs. We look forward to a great school year with many exciting programs including Franklin Covey’s 7-Habits leadership training for all students, Pre-AP Math and English in our middle grades, and our 100-Book Challenge Program. Of course, our National Championship Chess Program will be even larger and we look forward to the continued success of our Championship Boys and Girls Basketball teams! Together we will make this year a huge success for your child(ren)!
